Log into the Gateway:
- Connect your device to the router (preferably hardwired)
- Open a Web Browser (Chrome, FireFox, Safari, Internet Explorer etc)
- In the web browsers address bar type: tplinkwifi.net or 192.168.0.1
- The following screen appears and you will need to set an administrator password for managing your router ** First time login only, you may have set this already**
- Click Let’s Get Started when you’re done.*
- If the default password does not work and you cannot remember the changed password, you may need to factory reset the router by hushing and holding the inset reset button for 10 seconds.
Basic and WiFi Settings
1. After you login with the password you created just know, you will be asked to select the Time Zone for your router, select Auckland, UTC+12:00 then click Next
2. The system will check the WAN connection type and You will be asked for PPPoE username and password on this page. (Upper case sensitive):
4. For the Username: HotShotFibre
5. For the Password: UrDa8est
6. Save the setting and Click Next
Skip the WAN(When the TPLINK router is not connected to the fibre box)
- If your router are not connected to the fibre ONT box, or the fibre connection has not been activated yet, you will see the below picture.
- If you see the below picture, just click Skip for now.
- Enter ther WiFi name and password if you want to change it, otherwise just click Next
How to add correct settings for the Hotshot fibre:
1. Click Internet, the 2nd option on the Top menu
2. Next is Internet Connection Type – Please select PPPoE.
3. You will be asked for PPPoE username and password on this page. (Upper case sensitive):
4. For the Username: HotShotFibre
5. For the Password: UrDa8est
6. Save it
7. Go to Advanced, the 4th option
8. Click Network from the leftside menu,
9. Select Internet
10. Click Advanced setting, Change MTU Size to 1492
11. Click Save
12. Select IPTV/VLAN from the leftside menu, make sure VLAN/IPTV is NOT enabled.
